Yummy, Fresh Air

Here is the latest batch of kitty grass. Mum broughted it out tonight and was going to give it a little water before she put it down where I could eat it. I wanted it now and jumped up to start noshing. Yum.

No, I never did find a way to get to the top of the thingy to eat it early. But I will keep thinking about it. She has another batch growing up there.

What I call the dungeon, mum calls the basement. The only thing there that breathes fire is the big metal thing that warms the house. So, no dragons that I can see. I think I am pretty safe. Lots of kitties said they didn't have a dungeon, so I will share mine. I gots lots of room.

Plus mum finished reading me Max's book last night. We both liked it, towards the end I began to remember the posts that I first read on the 'puter. That is when I started to get into blogging. Furry good Max.

And tonight when mum came home from work she opened some windows in the house. I was so excited about this I almost jumped out the window to the outside. Mum just caughted me before I got loose. She was happy as she didn't want to run outside to try and catch me. Here you can see me sitting with the open window as it gets dark. It was nice to smell the fresh air and all of the outside smells of spring.
My dear Princess Mia won a contest. She gave a wonderful thank you speach at the Diva Kitty site. She even thanked me, I'm dreamy. Thank you PMB.

Tuesday This and That

We had lots of sun today, so both me and mum took advantage of the bright, cheery day. She had a few errands to run, then fed the metal monster and took a ride! She didn't go anywhere specific, just wandered around for a bit. She came home with a nice smile on her face.

Then once mum made a batch of her chick-hen soup, and I got some of the chick-hen, we sat in the chair and watched outside most of the afternoon. Mum is not happy the sqwerls have been at our new little feeder. She is not happy.

ManCat Monday

There are few things in life more heartwarming than to be welcomed by a cat. - Tay Hohoff

I don't always meet mum at the door when she comes home. Derby used to do that all the time. He would sit in the front window and then jump down to greet her at the door. What I do like to do if she is gone for a longer time, as soon as she sits down, I am in her lap!

We had a quiet but rainy weekend. Mum did her usual chores, watched a bit of bracketball. Plus we did our usual fevver watching. That was interesting, we had a huge bird land on our fence. It was a turkey! Mum saw two of them.

Mum took this the other day, when it was sunny. I was licking up the remains of her brekkie plate. Just a touch of butter on it.

Have a good week.

Caturday

HiYa Ducky here. Well, I spent the night in mum's closet! I didn't want to spend the night there, but mum did not see me sneak in, she shut the door and crawled into bed. Fell asleep until morning. I got out when she got her robe out this AM.

She stayed up late watching bracketball, it was after midnight when she went to bed. So a quick potty, hang up the robe and into bed. She must have been sleepy to have missed me. Our team losted, so no Bucky Badger playing on. Mum is bummed but we would have had to play Truffle and Brulee's team.

When mum first let me out she kept saying, "go use the litter box", but all I wanted to do was to cuddle with her. I missed my nighttime and morning cuddles with her and I needed my fill.

I am back to my usual spot, in the hammick, getting ready for a nap.
I have a new sisfur, well, she really doesn't have fur. She is all bright and shiny and will join the other girls outside when they get up for the year.
Mum says her name is Fleur, that is French for flower. Right now she is hanging out inside with us and sitting in the flower pot with the silk flowers.

Some of our flowers, the crocus, it was a bit warmish for a while on Friday so the blooms were nicely open for mum to take pictures. It is going to be a cold day here, rainy too. Good for naps.
Happy weekend everyone.

Throw Back Thursday

HiYa Ducky here. Sort of a quiet week around here, mum has been around, yesterday she went with a furiend to a funeral of a long time racing purrson. Mum said it was a nice simple service with lots of love.

Now many of you were amazed at off of the snow we had last week, which is gone. But guess we get these types of snows now and then.

Just to show you all that Mother Nature has a sense of humor. Nine years ago on this day it was Easter. We had snow on the ground like it was Christmouse! Wowza!

HAPPY EASTER
For those of you who do not know how they pick the date when Easter falls, mum says it goes as follows.

The first Sunday, after the first full moon, after the first full day of spring. Easter can fall from March 22 through April 25. It is rarely this early in March. It won't be this early again for a furry long time. Easter of 2035 as a matter of fact, I don't think I will be around!

But I looked back to last year when Easter was in April. We again had snow and cold and Easter was nearly two weeks later. Here are my linkies to post last year showing our terrible cold we had last year. April 7 and April 11 It was the middle of April before we got rid of our snow. Actually it was gone in March, then all of a sudden we got cold and snow again.

Here are pictures from Saturday morning of the snow piles and the yard. Mum says the snow piles off the patio are about the same height as they were back in February after the big snow.
I hope this is it for this year. As of now at the official measuring station this is the second snowiest winter season in Milwaukee. Mum says that with the sun being higher in the sky and the longer days helps melt the stuff faster. Even today she said it was getting nice and melty in places. Just harder to tell.

Everyone have a good Easter Day.

ManCat Monday

Two things are aesthetically perfect in the world - the clock and the cat. - Emile Auguste Chartier

These are just the few pictures that mum can find of me up by the ticky-tock clock. Plus you can't really see the clock!
Here is a picture of Derby from 5 years ago in front of the clock, plus flowers mum got after she got her surgery back then.

Mum has had a chat with the girls, they are getting ready to make their debut, but it still might be a few weeks. Yeah, they know spring starts today, but after all the snow last Monday, they have been happy to be warm and dry. You can see it is melting, the box and the table were buried last Monday.

I have been helping mum with her hat stuff. Spending time watching bracketball gives her time to work on hats. We are happy, our team is still dancing on to the Sweet 16. Plus mum's high school won the state championship too this weekend. Third year in a row.

Happy Spring, have a good week.

Caturday

HiYa, Ducky here. Happy weekend! We all made it to another end of the week. Ours was crazy with all of the snow on Monday.

Mum has been watching a bit of the bracket ball the past days.  So she has been working on the last few hats she promised people. So I decided to play with the one that was done. She hopes to have the last one done by Monday.
Then a couple of pics of me looking out of the window at the snow. With sunshine it disappears quickly. Mum says March snow doesn't stick around long.

So here are a few pics that show the snow and how it is now disappearing. Mum was taking her measurements off of these placed. On top of the box and the little table. Amember we had 13 inches by Monday night. So these pics are from Monday through Friday.

Not much left this AM, but mum hasn't taken her pictures. Wondering how long until the whole mess is gone. The snow is going in the front so we can see our little flowers again too. They got buried, but will be OK.
Have a wonderful weekend. Be safe and happy.

Throw Back Thursday

HiYa, Ducky here. Things are looking good after all of the snow. Mum has been out and about town doing stuff. No issues getting anywhere, the snow piles are melting and our robin has found the feeder with the meal worms.

Today's flashback is Derby, hanging out in mum's old chair in the back. I remember than chair, it wasn't here long, then mum got the new one I like better.

Fang Shui Friday

If a room has too much metal energy in the form of white furniture, shed on the furniture to soften the energy.

The gentle curve of a sleeping cat can also aid in softening metal energy.

From Fang Shui by Catfucious, Peter Pauper Press, 2002.

We don't have any metal furniture in the house and we don't have any white furniture in the house. But I agree that a kittie can make any chair look better. This is a furry old chair that mum gotted from Grampie, but don't I make it look wonderful?

Tuesday This and That

Well we had an interesting Monday. Snow, snow, snow and more snow! Way more than the weather guessers said we would get. Today is bright and sunny. I am enjoying the sun puddles.

Ok, here are some snow pictures for you. The storage box behind the house as the day went on. Before 8 AM; 9:30, 11 AM, and 2:30 PM. You can see it getting deeper and deeper.

Mum even got the measuring stick out to show how deep it was gettting! Yikes, this is deeper than I am tall.

All bright and sunny this morning, it is getting melty in the sun. Should be interesting to see how long this takes to go away! Since this is snow country, everything it plowed, streets are drivable, naybors all shoveled out. You can get to place where you need to go.

Even the drive to the metal monster room is almost free of snow except by the street by noon today. Pretty good. Mum went out to get her taxes all done, green papers coming back soon! Plus she met the tax guy's snoopervisor, Elliot.

ManCat Monday

A cat has absolute emotional honesty: human beings, for one reason or another, may hide their feelings, but a cat does not. - Ernest Hemingway

Happy Monday. Me and mum will be watching the snow come down today. Yeah, winter won't give up on us just yet.

Our little green plants are poking up, more and more. But they will all be covered up by the snow.

Me, well I will just nap and snuggle up with mum for the day. Although there won't be any sun puddles to nap in.
 Happy Monday all.
